This travel guide will help you plan your stay and organize a wine tasting in some of the best wineries nearby.

Coming from Paris, the city of Blois is the first stop on the Loire Valley wine route. Blois is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Blois castle, located in the heart of the city, is a must-visit before setting out to storm the neighboring vineyards. The closest appellations are Cheverny and Cour Cheverny. Beautiful white wines, available in dry and soft, produced in the heart of the wine-growing region of Sologne (also famous for its game-ridden forests). Further west, downstream of the Loire river, you can discover and taste the beautiful wines of Touraine-Mesland and visit the magnificent Chaumont-sur-Loire estate at the same time.
