Organising a wine tour in the Anjou-Saumur vineyards? There are so many wine tasting opportunities near Angers. Among the closest wineries near Angers, we can recommend a visit to Savennières, with a white wine tasting at Domaine aux Moines.

The dry white wines of Savennières are probably among the best of the Loire Valley. You can then cross the river Loire. On the South bank begins the Layon valley and its famous sweet white wines.

Stop for a wine tasting at Domaine du Petit Métris or at Domaine Patrick Baudouin. Both are top notch wineries of the Coteaux du Layon appellation. The Château Soucherie is an excellent option for an extended stopover : book a night or two in their magnificent guest rooms. The Domaine de Bois Mozé , a little further West will be the opportunity for a stopover in the heart of the Anjou vineyard. Not far from the Château de Brissac, which in itself is worth a detour and a visit.
